Funeral services for Mrs. Ella Goff, 71 years of age, were held Sunday afternoon, April 24, at 2 p.m. from the Beech Grove Baptist Church with Rev. D. L. Druien and Rev. Harvey Morrison in charge. Burial was in Brookside Cemetery. Mrs. Goff was born May 29, 1878 in Green County. She died Friday, April 22, at the home of her son, Cecil Goff, of Route 5. She had been in ill health for some time. She professed faith in Christ at an early age in life and was a member of the Beech Grove Baptist Church. She united in marriage to David Lee Goff, who preceded her on August 12, 1946. She is survived by two sons and five daughters: Cecil Goff, this county, and Coy Goff of Detroit, Mich., Mrs. Neal Peppers, Mrs. Ray Skaggs, Mrs. Ezra Wilcoxson, and Mrs. Eunice Walls, all of this county, and Mrs. Joe Davis, Bloomington, Ill.; also 3 sisters and 2 brothers: Mrs. Arthur Cook of Tallula, Ill., Mrs. Clyde Russell, Donansburg, Miss Mary Higgason of Buffalo, Ellis and Wilda Higgason, both of Buffalo; and many other relatives and friends. Pallbearers were grandsons: David Davis, Lloyd Walls, Hollis Wilcoxson, Cleston Peppers, Bobby Davis, and Ernest Lee Walls. ~The News-Journal, Thursday, April 28, 1949
