Dale had two brothers, William M. King, who is deceased, and Daniel W. (Bonnie) King who survives him.
Dale left high school to serve his country in World War II from 1943 - 1946 with a Naval Air Squadron in the Pacific Theater. He then returned to Newton to finish high school, graduating with the class of 1947 from Newton Community High School. He owned and operated D.M. King Advertising Company before going to work for General Electric where he retired with more than twenty years of service.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Mattoon, IL and a former member of the VFW, Moose, and Eagles.
Services were scheduled for January 3, 2013 at the Crain Funeral Home in Newton, IL with burial following in Brockville Cemetery in Hunt City Township, Jasper County, IL with military rites by Jasper Post #20 of the American Legion.
