Mrs. Rubye L. Cooper, 93, of Clovis, died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2005, at Laurel Plains Healthcare in Clovis.

She was born on June 29, 1911, in Rosedale, Okla., to Asa Wade and Etta Mable Eaton. She came to Curry County in 1929. She and her husband Edgar farmed and ranched in the Ranchvale area until 1958 when they moved into Clovis. Family members said she enjoyed life as a housewife and was an excellent cook and hostess. Family members also said she loved oil painting, making afghans for her children and grandchildren, fishing and flower gardening. She was a member of the 16th and Pile Church of Christ in Clovis and the Logan Church of Christ. She was a past member of the Cattle Capitol Cowbelles.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, E.H. Cooper; a daughter, Bobbie Stagner; two brothers, Austin and Emil Eaton; a sister, Sally Holland; and a great-great-grandson.

Survivors include two daughters, Bonnie Casada of Clovis, and Betty Salvucci of Las Vegas, Nev.; a sister, Christina Hodges of Clovis; eight grandchildren, Jerry and Eddie Stagner of Las Vegas, Nev., Connie Moyers of Clovis, Cathy Watkins of Hobbs, Penny Casada of Seattle, John Casada of San Antonio, Texas, and Dina Salvucci-Pullen and Pamela Salvucci both of Gardnerville, Nev.; 13 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

Dr. John "Hugh" Casada will officiate the services.

Burial will be at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis.

Pallbearers are her grandsons and great-grandsons, Ty and Clay Moyers, Justin, Jerry, and Eddie Stagner, and Reagan Watkins.

Visitation is scheduled from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. today at Steed-Todd Funeral Home in Clovis.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Christian Children's Home in Portales.
