FREDERICKSBURG, Iowa - Dorothy Jean Hagen, 73, passed away at her home in Fredericksburg of natural causes Tuesday morning, July 17, 2001. She was born March 29, 1928, in Sparta, Wis., the daughter of Oscar and Myrtle (Nichols) Baumbach. She graduated from Sparta High School in 1945 and married Robert Hagen Sept. 28, 1947. She owned and operated Jean's Sweet Shop (specializing in homemade baked goods and sandwiches) in Fredericksburg from 1994 to 1999.

Dorothy is survived by four children, Jeff of Howards Grove, Wis., Ricki Lee of Flowery Branch, Ga., Cindy Hobelsberger of La Crescent, Minn., and Kristi Hagen of Fredericksburg; three sisters, Virginia Behrens of Kenosha, Wis., Luella Steele of Sparta and Eunice Rigg of Crystal Lake, Ill.; 14 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be Friday, July 20, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Fredericksburg. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Sparta
