She was a homemaker who also worked at Cuneo Press, Delco Electronics, and years ago at the Naval Powder Factory in Indian Head, Md. She enjoyed crocheting and bowling and was a former member of Fairview Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Jeffery Austin Abney, Kokomo; one daughter, Sharon Sue Metz, Kokomo; and seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. There are also several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, David M. Abney, four brothers, two sisters and one grandchild.
Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Kokomo Memorial Park, 1300 E. North St. Pastor Steve Sherwood will officiate. There will be visitation from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at Ellers Mortuary, Main Street Chapel, 725 S. Main St., Kokomo. Ellers Mortuary is handling arrangements.
