Mr. Charles L. Keele, 73, of Corsicana, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012 at his residence. He was born Dec. 2, 1938 to Robert L. and Frances Keele in Corsicana.
He joined the U.S. Navy in 1956 and served aboard the USS Tutuila. He married Janice Sullivan while still in the Navy and they moved to Deer Park, Texas following his tour of duty. He worked for Brown & Root as a welder. After he retired from welding, he moved back to Corsicana, where he married Patricia Farmer. He then went back to school to pursue his life-long dream to become a police officer. He served three years with the Kerens Police Department and 18 years with the Ennis Police Department until his retirement in 2007. He was a member of the Blue Knights Law Enforcement Motorcycle club.
He and Pat have been faithful members of Calvary Worship Center for more than 20 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Keele and Frances Banks; and stepson, Kalub Farmer.
He is survived by his wife, Pat Keele; children, Tracy Keele and wife Charlotte, Dene' Collins, Cathy Simeone and husband Dan, Leah High and husband Wayne; stepchild, Kevin Farmer and wife Nancy; grandchildren, Chris, Matt, Courtney, Loren and husband Charlie, Christi, Cory, Trent, Zac, Shane, Kailen, Conner, and Pete; great-grandchildren, Dawson, Mark, Aidric, and Brody; brother, Robert Keele; sisters, Joyce Bullock and husband Roy, and Brenda Morris; aunt, Imogene Nowell; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Corley Funeral Home.
Services will be held at Calvary Worship Center on Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012 at 10 a.m. with Dr. Gary W. Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Point Cemetery in Bazette. Pallbearers are Jamil Johnson, Michael Bedard, Bobby Owen, John Solliday, Dan Simeone, Wayne High, Zac Collins, and Cory Lee.
