Scott, 45 of Leslie, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2013, surrounded by family and friends, following a brief and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Scott ascended into the arms of his many loving grandparents in heaven.

Scott was a dedicated husband, father, son, and brother. Scott was also a community-minded individual who was willing to help anyone anytime. He was Assistant Fire Chief for the Leslie Fire Department, Beef Superintendent for the 4H Beef Show at the Ingham County Fair, active in the Leslie Athletic Boosters, and involved in many activities with his children, which included camping several times each summer.

Scott graduated from Mason High School in 1986.

Scott is survived by his wife of 23 years Darcie (Vickers), and children Sarah, a senior at Spring Arbor University, Luke, a junior at Leslie High School, and Jessica, a 7th grader at Leslie Middle School. He is also survived by his parents Don and Sharon Dunsmore, brothers Dan (Ellen) and Tim (Mary), and special brother Mike (Jill) Raab, Darcie's parents Don and Judy Vickers, brothers Darin Vickers and Jared (Betsy) Vickers, and many aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, extended family members, and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 5th, beginning with a fireman's processional at 9:45 am from Bellevue to Hull Rd., followed by visitation and an 11:00 am funeral officiated by firefighter Scott Davidson and assisted by Pastor Tim Dunsmore, at Leslie High School, Leslie, MI.

(The visitation on Friday, January 4th, at the Leslie Fire Station, was very crowded. There were so people there, the line had to bend around several times, which was an indication of all the friends and family that Scott held close to his heart.)

In lieu of flowers, donations were made to the Scott & Darcie Dunsmore Benefit Fund at Independent Bank (Mason or Leslie).

Funeral arrangements entrusted to Scott's family and the Leslie Fire Department. Cremation followed.
