Service for Betty Jean Mullens, 64, of Durant, will be at 2 pm Tuesday in Dalton-Holmes Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev Paul Holmes officating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Mrs. Mullens died Sunday, February 13, 1994, at her residence. Born June 28, 1929, she lived her entire life in Durant. She was a housewife and member of the Baptist faith. She was married in Durant on October 26, 1956 to J C (Jessie) Mullens who survives. Other survivors are two sons, Ronnie Mullens, Dension, Texas, Elvin Pruitt Jr, Louisville, Kentucky, three daughters, Pam Holmes, Ponca City, Oklahoma, Jean Bias, Okay, Oklahoma, Danna Reese, Tahlequah, Oklahoma, two sisters, Byerl Whisenhunt, Mineral Wells, Texas, and Billie Butler, Palo Pinto, Texas, 13 grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon Gossett and Lillian Thelma Rambo Gossett, and a brother, Vernon Gossett Jr.
