"Amity - Isaiah M. Cooper unexpectedly died Friday morning, July 1 at his home her from heart disease. Mr. Cooper was born near Hopewell August 11, 1855 and was 72 years, 11 months and two days of age. He was the youngest son of William Cooper, a pioneer of 1846 and lived near Hopewell all his life until he came to Amity about 15 years ago.
He is survived by 3 daughters and 1 son: Mrs. Douglas Cave and Mrs. Elizabeth Davidson of Hopewell; Mrs. A. Miller of Portland and Merrett Cooper of Amity, which whom he made his home. One sister, Mrs. Jane Allison, of Fruitland, Washington also survives. Interment was in the Hopewell Cemetery."
