The younger daughter of Robert and Elsie Vandecar was Mary Louise Vandecar, who was born 29 Dec 1923 at home in Durkee, Ore.

She worked in Washington, D.C., during World War II and married Elwin Lester "Red" Long in 1944. Because he had the same surname as her mother, they had to document to the state of Oregon that they were not related for at least two generations back. They were not: Elwin was the son of Francis Lee Long (born 6 March 1878 near Greenwood, Ark., and died 2 April 1947 in Creston, Wash.) and Lena Rehms, who also died in 1947.

Mary Louise gave birth to their son John later in 1947.

On 24 July 1948, Mary Louise married Robert "Bob" Forsea in Weiser, Idaho. Although he never adopted Mary Louise's children, he raised them as his own and they used the Forsea surname until they were adults.

Mary and Bob Forsea ranched with the Forsea family on the Snake River above where the Hell's Canyon Dam is now located. The entire Forsea family (Bob and his two brothers and their parents) moved to Eagle Valley, Oregon, in the late 1950s or early '60s and ranched their for the rest of their lives.
