Mike lived at Clay Center, Nebraska until 1968, when he moved to the Guide Rock community. He received his formal education attending the Guide Rock schools and graduated from the Superior High School with the class of 1979. In 1980, Mike began his employment with Inland Foods at Hastings, where he was still working.
In his leisure time Mike pursued a number of interests and activities. While attending high school he was a member of the wrestling team. He was an avid sports fan and Mike especially enjoyed following Huskers football and athletics. He was interested in technology and possessed a a varied DVD collection and music. He was happiest when he was relaxing at home.
Left to treasure his memory are his mother and step-father, Nadine and Franklin Miller of Pea Ridge, Arkansas; his father, James Duffy, of Norfolk, Nebraska; a sister, Denise Shipman of Smith Center, Kansas; brothers Terry Duffy and wife Jennifer of Norfolk, and Dennis Duffy of Guide Rock, Nebraska; a half-brother, Jimmy Duffy of Guide Rock; a niece, Amy Duffy; four nephews, Alex Duffy, Tyler Horning, Travis and Taylor Robb; other relatives and friends.
Interment was in the Guide Rock Cemetery.
