Thomas McClelland was born in Woodstock, Ontario, Canada on the 21st day of July, 1839 and departed this life Sept.21, 1926, aged 87 yr., 1 mo., and 11 days.
At the age of 21 years he was married to Anna Moody (of Ireland ) and to this union nine children were born all of whom survived except two who died in infancy, Ellen 1869 and Edgar 1871.
In 1870 Mr. McClelland came with his family to Michigan, living for two years at Greenwood. From there in 1873 he moved to a farm in Flynn where he resided until about 21 years ago, when he moved to Brown City. Ten years ago Mrs. McClelland died and the deceased had lived here since that time, with the exception of three years spent with his daughter, Mrs.Mary Ford and her husband George Ford in Detroit.
Surviving Mr. McClelland are six children. Frank McClelland, Detroit; Wm. McClelland and Mrs. Lucinda Phillips, Imlay City; Mrs. Mary Ford and Mrs. Jane Hayward ,Brown City and Mrs. Sarah Ward Hayward, Flint, and sixteen grandchildren.
Service was held Friday at 2 PM from the Mennonite Church, W.O. Cline officiating. Interment was held at the Omard Cemetery, in Peck.
