Hertha A. Schroeder, 89, of Kiel died Saturday January 5, 2013 at Homestead Care Center where she had been a resident for several years. She was the daughter of the late Albert & Louisa (Zarnoth) Schroeder, born on February 8, 1923 in the Town of Eaton, Manitowoc County. Hertha attended grade school in the Town of Charlestown and Chilton High School. She was a 1941 graduate of Hilbert High School. For many years, Hertha lived and worked in Watertown. In 1974 she moved back to Kiel. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Kiel, where she was involved with the church Bible Class. Hertha is survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by 2 sisters; Esther (Harvey) Graf, Leona (George) Urban, 2 brothers; Edwin & Harvey Schroeder. Funeral services for Hertha will be at 6:00pm on Thursday January 10, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Kiel with Rev. David Laabs officiating. Burial in St. Peters Lutheran Cemetery, Collins. Family and friends may call at Trinity Lutheran Church (387 Cemetery Rd. Kiel) on Thursday from 5:00pm until the time of services. Hertha's family would like to give a very heartfelt thank you to the nurses and staff at Homestead Care Center for the wonderful care given to Hertha over the past years.
