Joseph S. Aaron, 196 Brian Place, Tappahannock, Va., formerly of Woodrow Court, Sharon, died Tuesday (1-4-00) in his home. He was 85.

Mr. Aaron was born July 29, 1914, in Sharon to Joseph Daniel and Charlotte Castner Aaron.

He attended St. Joseph's School, Sharon; and graduated from Sharon High School in 1932.

Mr. Aaron retired in 1974 from the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp. He belonged to St. Timothy's Church in Virginia; and was the former financial secretary for St. Timothy's Knights of Columbus. He was a former member of St. Joseph's
Church, Sharon, and its Holy Name Society.

Mr. Aaron belonged to the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks of the Northern Neck, Virginia; and was a former member of Knights of Columbus Council 684, Sharon.

His first wife, Kathryn Baker, whom he married in 1938, died in 1955.

Surviving are: his second wife, the former Thelma A. Allison, whom he married Dec. 28, 1971; two daughters,
Mrs. Robert (Helen) Stanton, Denver, Colo.; and Mrs. Ron (Patricia) Harvey, Newport News, Va.; two sons, James W., Berryville, Va.; and Joseph D., Austin, Texas; two sisters,
Anne Cleary, Sharon; and Mrs. Michael (Dorothea) Murphy, Hartford, Conn.; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Francis.

Burial: St. Rose Cemetery, Hermitage.
