Carol Janeice Ellison Carlisle, 74, passed away Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, after a long battle with dementia. Celebration of life: 3 p.m. Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church, 1200 S. Collins Road, Arlington. Interment: Moore Memorial Gardens. Memorials: The family asks that if desired, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration, www.theaftd.org. Janeice was born Nov. 26, 1938, in San Angelo to JT and Grace Ellison. She was the second of five children. The family moved to Arlington in 1947. Janeice graduated from the Arlington High School and then received her nursing degree from TCU. She met and married Richard Carlisle in 1963 while working in Lubbock; they then moved to Arlington. Janeice worked as a surgical nurse in Arlington for many years and ended her working career as a school nurse for the AISD. She was a devoted friend and family member and dedicated to her church and faith. Janeice had been a member of First Presbyterian Church of Arlington since 1947 and has served on almost every committee at the church over the years. You knew if you wanted something done right you could count on Janeice. The family would like to thank the staff at James L. West Alzheimer's Center for their care and support over the past years. Janeice was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Timmie Shifflet and Kathryn Stotz. See you later, Necy! Survivors: Husband of 49 years, Richard; children, Clay Carlisle (Kristi) and Shannon Huggins (Bryan); grandchildren, Allison and Andrew Carlisle, John and Daniel Huggins; brother, Leslie Ellison (Miriam); sister, Virginia Farley (Phil); and many nephews, nieces, friends and loved ones.
