Mary M. Rohrig
Age 87, of Canton died Friday, November 23, 2012 in the House of Loreto following an extended illness. Born September 5, 1925 in Louisville, OH. to the late Fred and Barbara (Kress) Rupple. She was a life resident of the Canton area and a graduate of Louisville High School. Mary was retired from St. Regis Paper Company. She was a member of St. Mary's/ St. Benedict Catholic Parish where she was involved with the Senior Citizens group, Columbianas and the Altar/Rosary Society. She was also a member of the North Industry American Legion Auxiliary Unit #440. Preceded in death by her husband, Elmer E. Rohrig in 2006; one sister, Doris Kline; her step-mother, Mary Rupple. Survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Mary Ann Rohrig, Frederick and Patricia Rohrig all of Canton; six grandchildren, Kyle Rohrig of Cleveland, Ryan Rohrig of Cleveland, Eric (Mary) Rohrig of Florida, Michelle (Scott) Zaret of Kentfield, CA., Renee (Sean) Baker of San Francisco, CA., Annette (Jeremy) Gursky of Akron; four great grandchildren, Zachary Rohrig, Enzo Zaret, Max Gursky, Matthew Rohrig; several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the House of Loreto for their compassionate care given to Mary. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012 at 10:00 am in St. Mary's Catholic Church of Canton with Fr. Benson Okpara as celebrant. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 6-8 pm. in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on South Cleveland Ave. Memorial donations may be made to the House of Loreto.
