She was born July 25, 1928 in Limestone County to Alonzo Wade Griggs and Beulah Kirkland Griggs. She was a member of Woodlawn United Methodist Church in Birmingham. Mrs. Hamilton was a retired title clerk from First Educators Credit Union in Birmingham. She married William Thomas Hamilton in December of 1946 and then moved to Birmingham.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
She is survived by two sons, Harry Hamilton of Birmingham, and Joe Hamilton of Douglasville, Ga.; one brother, Tom Wade Griggs of Athens; four grandchildren, Jason Hamilton of Dallas, Ga., Julie Farris of San Francisco, Calif., Brenda Pladdy of Chicago, Ill., and Charles Hanna of Santa Cruz, Calif.; two step-great-grandchildren, Kylie Hunter and Patrick Hunter, both of Dallas, Ga.; two nieces and three nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jason Hamilton, Danny Lewter, Jerry Clark, Steve Griggs, Bruce Griggs and Bradley Griggs.
