He moved with his parents to a farm southwest of Story City when he was 5 years old, and 27 years ago moved to Story City.

He spent two years in Des Moines studying photography and has been in that business in Story City for the past 27 years. Fifteen of these years he also maintained a studio over the Rod Publishing Co. building in Roland.

A year and a half ago he suffered a stroke and since then has been in failing health up to his death.

He was buried from the Immanuel Lutheran church, Rev. Heimarck officiating. Six of his seven brother were pallbearers. They were Ole, Augustine, Albert, Cornelius, Clarence and Sam. Besides these he leaves to mourn his passing his mother, one sister, Mrs. Albert Johnson, and another brother, Martin. Also five nieces and four nephews and a host of relatives and friends. His father died two and a half years ago and a sister died in infancy.

Those coming from a distance to attend the funeral were Ole O. Roe, Martin Roe, Mrs. Hubert James and Nels Lein of Des Moines, Mr. and Mrs. Lars Christenson of Ormsby, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Hoffa and Mrs. Roundy of Marshalltown, Mr. and Mrs. Lew Eness, Mrs. Edythe Hanson and son Roy, Mr. and Mrs. S.
