The only child of Sir Melville Parker, Bart. and Jessie Hector she was baptized February 24th, 1848 at St. James' Cathedral, Toronto City. She married Andrew Robertson Gordon June 26th, 1872 at St. John's, Dixie, Peel Co. They lived at "Knoyle" in Toronto Twp., Peel Co. After her husband's death in 1893 she remained at "Knoyle" until March 11th, 1911 when she removed to Craigmyle, Alberta with her son Arthur and daughter Violet May (Gordon) Eaton.

Hanna, Alta., Jan. 20 – (Can. Press) – The death occurred at her home at Lillico, near here, of May Elizabeth Gordon, widow of the late Commander A. R. Gordon, R. N., one time deputy minister of marine at Ottawa and only child of the late Sir Melville Parker, Bart., of Cooksville, Ont. Mrs. Gordon had been ill a week with pleurisy.
The remains are being sent east tonight for burial, being accompanied by Arthur Gordon, the second son. The eldest son, Burgoyne Gordon, of Cobalt, Ont., will be present at the funeral at Erindale, Ont., near Cooksville, where the deceased lived after the death of her husband. A few years ago the family moved west into Alberta.
Mrs. Gordon is survived by three sons and three daughters."
