Vivian Miller Benton, formerly of Darlington, died January 6th, at her residence in Lafayette, LA. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Belk Funeral Home at 11:00 AM on Thursday January 10th, with burial following in Grove Hill Cemetery.
Born on June 24, 1923 in Lakeview, SC , she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Betty C. Miller. She had retired from General Electric and moved to Lafayette after her husband, Hugh Benton, passed away in 2009. She enjoyed going to Mardi Gras and was looking forward to going again this year. She was a member of South Side Free Will Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son, James "Rick" (Rosia) Carter of Darlington, three daughters: Pat Hurst, Susan Warren both of Lafayette, LA, Lynn (Robert) Strickland of Mullins, a sister, Gladys (Bruce) Lewis of Florence, and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 Wednesday evening at Belk Funeral Home and other times at 2100 Barnwell Dr, Florence.
