Mable Ann Hislop Harrop, 78, returned to her Heavenly Father in a joyful reunion on January 7, 2013 in Gunnison, Utah. She was born June 9, 1934 in Ogden to Curtis Taylor and Jennie Wall Hislop. She has two brothers: Gary & Chick and two sisters: Velly & Linda. There were all raised with the values of faith, honesty, service and perseverance.

Ann graduated from Ogden High School in 1952 and was valedictorian of the seminary. She married Richard Kent Harrop in the Salt Lake Temple on January 16, 1953.They became life-long sweethearts and examples of true love.

Ann supported Rich in everything he did and traveled with her sweetheart around the world with his military career and education. They went to Biloxi, Mississippi; Washington D.C.,Montgomery, Alabama; Denver, Colorado; Okinawa, Japan; San Antonio, Texas; Honolulu, Hawaii; and Ogden, Nibley, Centerfield and Fayette, all in Utah.

She was a life-long member of the LDS Church and dedicated her life to the service of her family, scouting, Primary, Young Women's and Relief Society, on the ward and stake levels. Ann and Rich also worked together with the students at Snow College and as workers in the Manti Temple.

Ann and Rich have seven children: Royal, Kenneth, Robin, Aaron, Annette, Royce and Kandy. Ann will be remembered as a sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend and neighbor. She will also be remembered for her love of flowers and her smile. She lived her life as an example of love, faith, friendship and compassionate service. We are blessed by her life and we are better people because of her. We will miss her and look forward to being with her again.

Ann is survived by her husband, Richard; children: Royal (Audrey) Harrop, Rob (Lawona) Harrop, Aaron (Nova) Harrop, Annette Newman, Royce (Rashel) Harrop, Kandy (David) Mead; grandchildren: Melanie (Merline) Peterson, Kenji (Annie) Harrop, Mako (Elizabeth) Harrop, Jennie (Adam) MacPherson, Adam Harrop, Lacey (Dan) Christensen, Kaloni (Ben) McCulloch, Anna (Randy) Neff, Richard Harrop, Kristina (Skyler) Farnsworth, Erin Harrop, Salinda (Austin) Horrocks, Rendell (Alisia) Newman, Devin Harrop, Courtney Harrop, Trevor Harrop, Bethany Harrop, Spencer Meade, Tanner Meade, Kara Meade, Brandon Meade; and 14 great-grandchildren; siblings: Charles "Chick" (Dianne) Hislop, Vellys Nelson, Linda (Don) Stoffers.

Preceded in death by parents; son, Kenneth; brother, Gary Hislop; brother-in-law, Jay Nelson.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 11, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. in the Fayette LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call at the ward chapel in Fayette on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 and one hour prior to services on Friday.

Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. in the Ogden City Cemetery.
