Mr. Kidd was the son of the late George Washington Kidd and the late Martha Frances Slaven Kidd and was also preceded in death by four brothers: Herbert, Hillary, Jerry and Fred Kidd; four sisters: Etta, Rosemary Slaven, Bertie Wells, Dollie Kidd, and Anna Jane Kidd; and two great-grandchildren.
He was a longtime member of High Point Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife Ella Esther Kidd of the High Point community; four daughters: Grace Summers of Okeana, Ohio; Pauline Wunderlin and husband Don of Toledo, Ohio; Louise Phillips and husband Theron of the Cherry Fork community; and Jewel Terry and husband Robert of the High Point community; four sons: Hollis Kidd and wife Imogean; Jesse Kidd and wife Anna Lou of the High Point community; Archie Kidd and wife Fannie of Fort Mitchell, Ky.; and Lynden Kidd and wife Ann of Ross, Ohio; one sister: Bonnie Phillips of the High Point community; two brothers: Horace Kidd and Denton Kidd, both of Ohio; twenty-four grandchildren; forty-seven great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted at the West-Murley Funeral Home Chapel at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 5, with the Rev. Obis Byrd and the Rev. Lee Smith officiating. The Cleamon Goad Family sang. Burial was in the Hazel Valley Cemetery.
