A native of Algiers, Louisiana he served in the U.S. Marine Corps and retired from the New Orleans Police Department after 30 years of service. He was Commander of the Vice Squad. He also worked at the U.S. Federal Courthouse and the Jefferson Parish District Attorney's Office
