Fred Lee Ackiss — Orangeburg

Fred Lee Ackiss, 71, of 1230 Brickle NE Orangeburg, died Thursday, June 20, 2002, at the Orangeburg Nursing Home.

Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 23, at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens, Orangeburg, with the Rev.
Joseph Hallman officiating.

Pallbearers will be Tony Ackiss, Robbie Ackiss, Phillip Ackiss, Jason Crenshaw and Brandon Darrow.

Mr. Ackiss was born March 17, 1931, in Gay, Ga., a son of the late Stewart DeWitt Ackiss and Lula Beatrice Thomas Ackiss. He was retired from Carpenter Technology. He served in the US Army.

Survivors include his wife, Betty JoAnne Ackiss of Orangeburg; two sons, Keith Ackiss and Jovan Ackiss, both of Orangeburg; three daughters, Deborah Castor of Portsmount, Va., Cindy Foxworth and Tina Weitzel of Milner, Ga.; a sister, Martha Griffin of Dutton, Ga.; and 11 grandchildren.

Thompson Funeral Home of Orangeburg is in charge of arrangements.
