Dr. Bruce McCray, age 51 of Purcell, passed from this life into the presence of His Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on Thursday, January 10, 2013, at his home. Bruce was born November 21, 1961 in Tulsa, OK to Charles and Louise McCray. He grew up in Owasso and attended Owasso Schools, graduating in 1980. He continued his education receiving his Bachelor's, Master's and PhD Degrees, from the Louisiana Baptist University in Shreveport, LA. Bruce married Pam Anderson on July 29, 2002, at First Baptist Church in Elmore City, OK. For more than 26 years, Bruce has been an Ordained Southern Baptist Minister in the State of Oklahoma. He was pastor seven years at the First Baptist Church of Morrison, and nineteen years at the First Baptist Church of Elmore City. Since May of 2012, he was employed as Chaplain for the Cross Timbers Hospice in Ardmore. Bruce had a monthly radio program in Lindsay and preached weekly on the radio in Sulphur and Pauls Valley. He loved the Lord, his family and his church with all his heart. Bruce loved life and lived it to the fullest. He was an avid sports fan of various teams including, O.U., Dallas Cowboy, St. Louis Cardinals and OKC Thunder. He had a great sense of humor that made him a great communicator of the gospel. He loved gospel music and was especially fond of Southern Gospel Quartet Music. He will be dearly missed!
Bruce leaves behind: His wife, Pam, of the home; One son, Caleb McCray of Stillwater; His parents, Charles and Louise McCray of Owasso; 2 sisters, Dee Dee Martin and family and Cindy McDaniel and family, all of Claremore; 2 Nephews, 2 Nieces, 2 great nephews and 2 great nieces; His father and mother-in-law, Buel and Patricia Anderson of Wayne; One sister-in-law, Debbie Childress and family of Tuttle; One brother-in-law, Scott Anderson and family of Virginia Beach, VA; Numerous aunts, uncles, and a host of friends.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 1:00 P.M Tuesday, January 15, 2013, at the First Baptist Church in Purcell. Burial will follow at the Hillside Cemetery. Arrangements are by Wilson-Little Funeral Home of Purcell. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Baptist Children's Home, Cross Timbers Hospice of Ardmore or Lifecare Hospice of Norman.
