Clarence Young Straub, 79, of 77 North Ivan Avenue, Galesburg, died Saturday, 4 Mar 1978, at 10:53 pm at St. Mary's Hospital, Galesburg. He was born 12 July 1897 in Galesburg, the son of Roy Albert and Florence Young Straub. He married Pansye Means 15 June 1920 in Peoria, IL. She died 5 Feb 1975. One daughter, Mrs. Carol E. Zarske, survives, along with three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Mr. Straub was chief clerk at the Burlington Northern freight house, retiring in 1967. He was a member of the First Christian Church, Vesper Masonic Lodge 584, Burlington Veterans, and the senior citizens.

Funeral services were held at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Chapel with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery, Galesburg.
