Mr. Braunel was born January 10, 1907 at Manitowoc, son of the late Edwin and Clara Johnson Braunel. He married Edna Mae Windus on September 30, 1987 at Manitowoc. She preceded him in death on October 5, 1981. Mr. Braunel was a Journeyman Electrician for 50 years working for various contractors throughout the state until retiring in 1974. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 706 and International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local Union 158.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Clyde Braunel, Robert and Susan Braunel and Dale and Julie Braunel, all of Manitowoc; sisters and brothers-in-law, Blanche Sonnevick of Bethany, Oklahoma, Ruth Gulseth of Manitowoc, Edith and Arthur Jarosh of Manitowoc, and Evangeline Bast of Manitowoc; eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Luella Braunel and Edna Frey, and two brothers, Raymond and Arthur.
Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, 5 pm to 9 pm Tuesday and Wednesday at First Reformed United Church of Christ from 10 am to the time of services at 11 am.
