Walter W. Bittner, age 91, of Plymouth, (formerly of Menomonee Falls), went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, Jan. 15, 2005.

Walter was born Aug. 26, 1913, in St. Cloud to the late Gottlieb and Emma ( Pickart) Bittner.

On June 14, 1936 he married Estelle Birkhauser at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mt. Calvary, who preceded him in death on April 28, 1996.

Walter enjoyed spending time with his family and playing sheepshead.

Wally was a loving father of Father Wayne Bittner of Plymouth and Diane (Clarence) Schmitt of Germantown; cherished grandfather of Linda (Daniel) Stoecker of Cedarburg, Robert (Colleen) Schmitt of Jackson, Lori (Robert) Seefeld of Jackson; proud "Papa" of Justin, Sarah, Joshua, Amanda, Amber, Daniel and Nicholas.

He is also survived by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Ethel Abler.

Mass of Resurrection will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18 at St. Claudius Catholic Church in St. Cloud. His son, Father Wayne Bittner will officiate. Entombment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Milwaukee.
