Lived in Savannah most of her life. She was the retired office manager of the Family Counseling Center of Savannah. Later worked at Georgia Telco Credit Union. In the 1930s and '40s she was employed by W.T. Grant and was an active member of their "alumni" association. In the late '40s and early '50s, she was active in the Parent Teacher Association of Georgia at 37th Street School and at the county level. She continued to be active in the American Business Women's Association and in the Hostess City Chapter, serving as its president several times. She was named Woman of the Year in 1976 and 1993. She was in the first graduating class of Commercial High School, and was a member of the Bull Street Baptist Church for many years. She was the daughter of Miles Herbert Bagwell Sr and Annie Ruth Reeves Bagwell.
