Myra Beth Dragoo, age 76, passed away January 10, 2013 after a prolonged illness from a stroke, Parkinsons and Alzheimers diseases. Myra was born April 16, 1936 in Burke, Angelina County, Texas to Martin D. Allbritton and Henrietta Moore Allbritton. After the age of 5, she lived with her mother and step-father, E.E. Zuch, growing up in Corpus Christi, Texas where she attended schools and worked for Citizens Standard Life Insurance Co. Myra and her future husband, L.D. "Bill" Dragoo first met at a county-western dance in 1957 and were married April 5, 1958 in San Antonio, Texas. They resided in Corpus Christi until 1960, then moved to Sinton. They continued to enjoy dancing most of their married life. Myra and Bill were blessed with four sons. The eldest, William, died in infancy. She was a member of Sinton Presbyterian Church and sang in the church choir for over 50 years.

Myra will be remembered for her generosity and her bubbly, vibrant personality. She always had a smile for everyone.

Myra is survived by her loving husband of 52 [correction 54 3/4] years, Bill of Sinton, Texas; three sons: Michael, Billy and Darrell; daughter-in-law Annie; grandchildren Sadie Dragoo, Haley Wilson and Joshua Wilson, all of Austin ,Texas; sisters Doris Witt of Pasadena, Texas and Jo Ann Goynes of George West, Texas; sisters-in-law Frances Dragoo of Edna, Texas; Betty Dragoo of San Antonio, Texas; brother-in-law Al Baker of Sinton; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the Dragoo family requests contributions be made to any Parkinsons or Alzheimers organization of choice in Myra's memory.

Arrangements and care entrusted to Resthaven Funeral Home.

Note by Carolyn Thomas Sorensen:

Officiating Myra's celebration of life was Rev. Bernard Ritchea, of Edna, Texas.

Pallbearers were Myra's sons; Michael Dragoo, Billy Dragoo, Darrell Dragoo; and grandson, Joshua Wilson; Totty Shulte and Clarence janota.

Myra was a beautiful and vibrant person. She loved & cherished her family and could not do enough for them. Myra loved her husband and sons, but I think one of her greatest joys was when she became a grandmother!
God bless you Myra.
