Mr. Ford was a native of Atlantic City, NJ, and moved to this area in 2003. He was Methodist. Mr. Ford also was a member of Atlantic Lodge No. 221 F A & M. for over 40 years and was a respected instructor. He retired from Atlantic Electric in 1993, after 25 years.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria; son, Edward J. Ford III, New Jersey.; daughter, Gloria Ford, Carmel, CA; sister, Elizabeth Hewitt of The Villages; two grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Jan.18, at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, The Villages. The Masons will be officiating and the Marine Corps will provide military honors.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Office of Development, Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607.
