Funeral services for Azelee Mattox Hood, 93, of Hanceville will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 3:30 p.m. at Hanceville Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Trueman Davis officiating; with interment in Hopewell Cemetery.
Hanceville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Hood passed away on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at Cullman Regional Medical Center.
She was born on Tuesday July 8, 1919 in Winston County to L.L. & Maggie McCoy Parris and is preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Walker A. Mattox and Oron Hood; three sisters: Ruth Swaim, Louise Benifield, and Edwynna Nevine; a brother, Troy Parris; a son, Rayford Mattox; and a son-in-law, Larry Lennen.
Survivors include a son, Robert Q. "Bobby" (Cloressia) Mattox; a daughter, Mava Jean Lennen; a daughter-in-law, Donna Mattox; a brother James (Edith) Parris; twelve grandchildren; twenty six great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday January 11, 2013 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
