Found in The State 19 June 1978: James William Worley, 45, of Route 2 Hopkins, died Sunday in Richland Memorial Hosptial. Born in Greenville County, he was a son of Lois Southerland Worley Dean of Hopkins and the late James Ernest Worley. He had been a resident of Hopkins for 28 years and was a member of Pineview Baptist Church. He was a construction worker. Surviving are his mother; his stepfather, R. L. Dean; a daughter, Rebecca Lynn Worley of Warner-Robbins, Ga.; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Sandra McNeely of Vail, N. C., and Mrs. Melvin Bass of Warner-Robbins, Ga.; a stepson, James Richard Smith of Irmo; and two grandchildren. Services will be 3 p.m. Tuesday in Pineview Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Lester P. Moore. Thompson Funeral Home, West Columbia, is in charge.
