Gladys B. Amis 89, of Milan passed away Tuesday January 1, 2013 at Ripley Crossing in Milan.
Gladys was born December 12, 1924 in Wheeler Ky; the daughter of Richard and Mellie (Thompson) Bain. She married Robert Amis December 15, 1945; who preceded her in death December 22, 1980.
She worked as a 4th grade teacher for many years at Milan and 4 years in Ky. Gladys was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, she belonged to the Indiana Retired Teacher Association; Gladys loved spending time with her family and friends and her cats.
Gladys is survived by her Daughter, Jan Amis of Batesville, IN; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert Amis and 4 sisters and 1 brother.
Funeral services will be Friday January 4, 2013, 1 PM at Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home in Milan, with Bishop Bob Phaneuf officiating. Burial will follow in New Craven Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday 12-1 PM at the funeral home.
