Barbara Jean Askew -- Services for Barbara Jean Askew, of Hugo, will be at 2 p.m. Dec. 27, 2002 at the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home in Hugo. Interment will follow at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hugo. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Dec. 27, 2002 at the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Chapel in Hugo. Barbara Jean Askew died Dec. 23, 2002 in Paris, Texas. She was 76. Barbara Jean Askew was born March 2, 1926 in Eric to the Rev. Henry and Grace (Crawford) Young. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Gracie Young. She is survived by two daughters, Annie Bowman of McGhee, Ark. and Carla Sachar of Austin, Texas; four sisters, Norma Mikel of Oklahoma City; Mabel Allega of Santa Maria, Calif., Mona Archibald of Garland, Texas and Helen Asti of Coral Gables, Fla.; and three grandchildren. The Prater-Lamtpon-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home in Hugo is handling the funeral arrangements.
