HEART ATTACK TAKES LIFE OF MAN IN CRASH - Dies At Wheel

A heart attack took the life of a man whose car crashed head-on into an uncoming car at West Third Street and Philadelphia Avenue yesterday afternoon.

J. OMAR FLORENCE, 68, of 339 Fairview Ave, was dead before the impact according to the coroner, Dr. John P Manges, who conducted an autopsy.

Police said Florence, who had been under the care of a physician for a heart ailment, was driving eastward on Third Street when his car veered to the left and ran into the left front of a Corvair station wagon driven by
Miss Henrietta B. Hansen, 64, Cairo, N. Y.

SLUMPS TO SEAT
Miss Hansen said she had stopped her car when she noticed Florence's car coming toward her. He appeared to throw his arms into the air and then slumped to the seat, she reported.

After the impact Florence's car began to drift westward on Third Street and it was stopped 89 feet away from the point of impact
by Albert Harbaugh, a car salesman at Mid-Town Motors.

Police said Harbaugh ran along side the car, opened the door on the driver's side and pulled the emergency brake.

Miss Hansen, a school nurse visiting here during the Easter vacation period, was taken to the Waynesboro Hospital where she was treated ror cuts of the knee and elbow and for a possible fractured nose.
