Ruth Hight Knott passed away Thursday, January 10, 2013. She was born in Clay County, Texas on June 15, 1922 to George Alexander and Anne Howell Hight. She was a 5th generation Texan of the Republic and cherished her pioneer heritage. Ruth graduated from Austin High School in 1939 and the University of Texas in 1943. She married Earl B. Knott August 1, 1944. Earl, as an oil professional, held posts in Texas, Europe, Africa and the Caribbean.

Ruth was identified with organizations dedicated to the nurture and welfare of children, home and family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Earl B. Knott, her parents, her sister Jane Campbell (husband, Richard), and her brother, Thomas H. Hight (wife, Stena). She is survived by her daughter, Nancy and son-in-law Leonard Christy with grandson Earl Willis Christy. Also, daughter Kathy and son-in-law Curtis Enke with granddaughter, Allison Enke and grandson Mark Enke and his wife, Holly and great-grandchild, Fischer.

Burial will take place at San Geronimo Cemetery, Seguin, Texas.
