Services Were Monday for Mrs. Goodman

Services for Mrs. Orville (Laura Ione) Goodman, 72, North English, were at 2pm Monday, July 12, in Best Funeral Chapel, North English, with the Rev. Ralph Russell officiating. Mrs. Goodman died Thursday, July 8, 1976 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Robert Kelley, North English. Organist for the services was Al Brainard and Mrs. Bruce Warner was soloist. Casket bearers were David Denison, Mark Greenlee, Harold Ladley, Robert Lillis, George McCallister and Roger Tandy. Interment was in Pilot Grove cemetery, near Williamsburg. An Order of Eastern Star service was at 8pm Sunday, in the chapel, conducted by the Williamsburg chapter. The daughter of William and Catherine Churkey Roberts Mrs. Goodman was born Nov. 28, 1903, north of Millersburg. She attended Iowa county public schools. Dec. 8, 1926 she married Orville Goodman and the couple farmed in English township all their married life until her husband entered Lone Tree Health care center because of ill health. Mrs. Goodman moved to Williamsburg in 1974 and since 1975 has resided with her daughter. She was member of the United Methodist church, Millersburg, was a past matron of OES, chapter 151, Williamsburg; and was a; member of the Millersburg Garden club.
