Also survived by ten grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral from the Connelly Funeral Home, 300 Mace Avenue. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Clare's Catholic Church. Interment in Oak Lawn Cemetery.

John Gordon Connelly, 84, the founder of three local funeral establishments, bearing his name, died at his home, above the funeral parlor he founded on 300 Mace Avenue. He had been ill for 14 months. His other two establishments are at 7110 Sollers Point Road and 3500 Bank Street in Highlandtown.
Born in York, Pa., he was a veteran of World War I. He was a past president of the Maryland Funeral Directors and the Automobile Funeral Association. At one time, he taught embalming at John Hopkins Hospital.
In 1943, he founded the Eastern Boulevard Lions Club.
An avid follower of the Baltimore Colts Football Team, he never missed a game, said his family.
He belonged to the Knights of Columbus and the Alhambra Catholic Organization. In the 1950's, he served as the Commander of the Dundalk American Legion Post No. 40 and No. 8, in Dundalk.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, the former Cecelia Fialkowski. Her brother William Fialkowski owns the Fialkowski Funeral Establishment at 2007 Eastern Avenue.
Also surviving are his two sons, John G. Connelly Jr. and Charle (Bud) Connelly and two daughters, Grace Phillips and Louise Dozier, all of Essex; two brothers, Frank D. Connelly of Dallas and John D. Connelly of Florida, 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
