Marie J. Drake, 83, Held Office With Women's Clubs Including State Chorus

Marie J. Drake, 83, formerly of Belleville, passed away on Sunday, January 13, 2013. Born and raised in Newark, she had resided in Belleville since 1954 before recently moving to Green Hill Residence in West Orange. Mrs. Drake belonged to the NJ State Federation of Women's Clubs and had held several state offices during her membership. An active parishioner of Christ Episcopal Church in Belleville, Marie was the former head of the Altar Guild. She was also a member of the church choir, as well as the State Women's Club Chorus.

Daughter of the late, Nicholas and Lillian (Linfante) Gervase, she was predeceased by her beloved husband, Richard H. Drake and is survived by her daughters, Susan Cutugno, Elaine M. Brown, her sons, Robert G., Kenneth B., Richard S. and Stephen P. Drake, 12 grandchildren, three great grandchildren, her sister, Joanne Fluke and her brother, Nicholas Gervase.

Relatives and friends will be received at the S. W. Brown & Son Funeral home www.swbrownandson.com, 267 Centre St, Nutley, on Thursday from 2:00-5:00 PM and 7:00-9:00 PM The Requiem Eucharist will be celebrated at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Clifton, at 10 a.m. Friday followed by burial at the Glendale Cemetery in Bloomfield.
