Ruby M. Armacost, Westminster
"Ruby Myers Armacost, 76, of Westminster, died thursday, Jan. 17, 2002, at the Carroll Lutheran Village Health Care Center. She was the wife of Kenneth S. Armacost, her husband of 57 years.
Born Feb. 8, 1925, in Carroll County, she was the daughter of the late Ernest D. and Amy Hahn Myers.
She was a 1943 graduate of Westminster High School and a former secretary for the Tubrerculosis Association and Summer Enterprise Association. She was a member of the Westminster Soroptimist Club, Westminster Lioness Club, the Republican Club and the Gettysburg Antique Auto Club. She served as a former president of Pleasant Valley Homemakers. She was a member of St. matthew's United Church of Christ and also served the church council and was editor of the church newsletter.
Surviving also are a sister, Eleanor Belle Myers Gorsuch of Lutherville and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Matthew's United Church of Christ, 1427 Pleasant Valley Road, Pleasant Valley. The Rev. James Mearns will officiate. Burial will be in Pleaant Valley Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster.
