Harold W. 'Rooster' McCoy, 59, of Hernando, retired road worker for DeSoto County and union carpenter, died Thursday at his home. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Grays Creek Baptist Church in Hernando with burial in the church cemetery. Hernando Funeral Home has charge. He was a Baptist.
Mr. McCoy, the husband of Ruby Jo Thomasson McCoy, also leaves six daughters, Kimberly Lynn Colegrove of Lenore, WV, Lisa Renee Otts of Asheville, NC, Michelle Rena Boggs of Delbarton, WV, Sabrina Dawn Warren of Bartlett, Angela Caprice Cooper of Shaw, and Jo Ann Rotello of Columbus, OH; a son, Harold Wayne McCoy Jr. of Hernando; a stepson, Kenneth Wayne Abbott of Como; a sister, Martha Wynell Trimble of New Concord, KY; a brother, Hoyle Eugene McCoy of Potts Camp, and 18 grandchildren.
