Cecil Simmons Ricks, Jr., 85, of Nederland, Texas, died Tuesday, January 15, 2013, at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur, Texas.

He was born on May 25, 1927, to Mary Bossier Ricks and Cecil Simmons Ricks, Sr., in San Augustine, Texas.

After serving in the Navy during World War II, Cecil was a dedicated operator at Texaco for forty-one years. He enjoyed listening to country music and being outdoors; especially traveling, fishing, and spending time in his garden.

Mr. Ricks is survived by his daughter, Elaine Ricks Bunn and her husband, Gregory; son, Gene Wayne Ricks and his wife, Terri; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother, Paul R. Ricks and his wife, Nancy.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and wife of fifty-six years, Betty Hux Ricks.

Burial: Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches, Texas.
