Mrs. Lanie Bennett, 80, Hinton, died in a local hospital at 5:45 am today after a long illness.

Born March 28, 1885 at Long Bottom, she was the daughter of the late Pete and Mary Ward Adkins.

A life long resident of Raleigh County, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lou, in 1930.

Survivors include five sons, Dewey Adkins, Sam Adkins, and Seymore Adkins, all of Hinton, Hurbert Bennett, Harper, Obie Bennett, Hinton, a daughter, Mrs. Dora Taylor, Page; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Arminta Adkins, Harper Heights, Mrs. Gusta Fletcher, Stanaford, and Mrs. Lydia McDaniel, Beckley, a sister, Mrs. Eurinda Adkins, Sandstone.

The body is at the Melton Mortuary pending completion of arrangements.

Funeral services for Mrs. Lanie Bennett, 80, Hinton, will be conducted at 1 pm today at the Melton Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Willie Wills officiating.

Burial will be in the Adkins Cemetery at Long Bottom near Hinton.

Mrs. Bennett died in a local hospital at 5:45 am Friday after a long illness.

Pallbearers will be Leonard Adkins, Harless Adkins, Ralph Adkins, Monice Wilson, Dan Boyer, and Carl Richmond.

The body will remain at the funeral home.
