JOYCE "BOOTS" ALDRIDGE ENGEL
1925-2006
Beloved mother, sister and wife, Joyce "Boots" Aldridge Engel went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on October 4, 2006.
Boots was born December 23, 1925 in Durant Mississippi to Katie Leigh and Thaddeus Dickerson. She graduated from Holmes County Junior College with an Associate's Degree. She is survived by sister Elouise Brown of Jackson, Mississippi, son Edwin Aldridge, III of Green Mountain Falls, Colorado, daughter Sandra Waskey of Lakewood, Colorado, son Robert Aldridge of Grove City, Ohio, grandchildren Arthur Waskey, Jr. of Denver Colorado, Andrea Forbes of Downey, California and Austin Waskey of Lakewood, Colorado. She is also survived by great-grandchild Chloe Isabella Waskey. She was preceded in death by her two husbands Edwin Aldridge, Jr. and Carl Engel, both of Santa Maria. From Carl Engel's family she is survived by daughter Mary Ellen Livak, son Carl Engel, Jr., daughter Eileen Will, son Robert Engel and grandchildren Christopher Engel, Tyler Engel, and Lauren Rose Engel.
Along with being a devoted wife, and mother, she earned a Life Master's in Bridge, was a member of the Santa Maria Minerva Club, and a member of the Birthday Group.
In lieu of flowers please make contributions to The Santa Maria Elks Lodge #1538.
A memorial service will be held at Dudley-Hoffman Mortuary and Crematory on Saturday, October 7, 2006 at 10:00 a.m.; graveside service at Santa Maria Cemetery. Reception to follow at Bob and Karen Engel's home.
Arrangements are under the direction of Dudley-Hoffman Mortuary and Crematory.
