LIVERMORE FALLS - Harland A. Spiller, 73, died Wednesday at Central Maine Medical Center where he had been a patient for three months.

He was born in New Gloucester on Sept. 21, 1904, the son of Frederick and Effie Cobb Spiller. He was educated in the Hebron and canton school systems. He married Florence Bean of West Minot on Dec. 21, 1924 in Lewiston. The Spillers resided on Route 133 in Livermore Falls, having moved there in 1961. Prior to that, they resided in Jay. He retired from International Paper Co. in 1969 after 45 years of employment. He was a member of the Quarter Century Club at International Paper.

He is survived by his widow, Florence Spiller, Livermore Falls; three daughters, Mrs. Arlene Harris, Minot, Mrs. Katheline Botka, Klamouth, Ore., Mrs. Janice Lucas, Wilton; one sister, Myra Walker, West Falmouth and one brother, Ernest Spiller, Demorest, Ga. They also had one daughter, Eleanor, who died in 1938. Also surviving are six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
