Melba Edna Benson Clark 86, wife of the late Burke Clark died suddenly Jan. 18, 2013 in the Fairwinds-Sand creek housing of a lingering heart condition.

Melba was born Sept. 25, 1926 at Teton , Idaho the daughter of Darcy Isaac and Myrl Agnes Hughes Benson, She grew up in Teton and graduated from South Fremont High School.

On Jan. 15, 1947 she married Burke Clark in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They were married 56 years before he passed away on Dec. 10, 2003. They lived in St. Anthony moving to Idaho Falls in l999

Melba was a active member of the LDS Church She served faithfully in several church callings. She enjoyed being a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and getting together with her childhood friends. She made many beautiful latch hook rugs, and table cloths. She loved working in her yard. Her flowering almond was the talk of the neighborhood in the spring. She loved to visit with her family and many friends on the telephone. She wa a good neighbor and friend.


She worked for First Security Bank for several years and then for Utah Power & Light Co. She was a excellent employee and retired from UP&L in l983.

She is survived by two daughters - Sheila Ann (Don) Steed, East Liverpool, Ohio and Pamela Joyce Daron, Vancouver, WA. 7 grandchildren 23 great grandchildren. She was dearly loved by her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She always welcomed them into her home. Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by brothers Alden Benson, Clyde Benson and Jay Benson.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013 at ll:00 a.m. in the Idaho Falls Eagle Rock Stake Center (2020 Charlotte Dr.) Friends may call at the Bidwell Funeral Home Tuesday Jan. 22, 2013 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. and at the Church in Idaho Falls on Wednesday one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in the Teton-Newdale Cemetery.
