Murder victim along with his brother-in-law Tirso Gonzales outside a restaurant-bar parking lot in Baldwin Park California. His brother Isaac Prendiz suffered the same fate on the same day in 1978 in Sanger California.

The fourth of seven children of Mishael and Rosa Prendiz. After his parent's divorce, his mother Rosa moved the family from Watts (Los Angeles County) to Sanger California (Fresno County) in 1946.

In 1955, he met Jesse Medina at a packing house where they worked. Later they would marry and had four children between them: Vivian, David, Daniel, and Cora.

At the age of 16 until his early 20's, Levi boxed as a amateur in the lightweight division. He returned to live in the district of Watts to raise his wife and children. He worked along with his father (Mishael Prendiz) in construction and then at a furniture manufacture before his death.

His brother-in-law Tirso (who lived in Azusa California) invited Levi on the unfateful night at a local restaurant-bar in the city of Baldwin Park on Arrow Highway. Levi was at first unwilly to go along with Tirso that they may get something to eat.

According to family members, Levi and Tirso's death was by the hands of someone who knew them or was contracted to kill them by someone who knew them. Theory is that Levi was the intented victim, since he took a second bullet to the head at point blank. Other members of the family were to meet up with them that evening, but postponed to meet with them until the next day.

Police at first had no information who they were since their wallets were taken to cover for a murder hit thinking to be a random robbery. By chance a friend and co-worker of Tirso was driving by the place of the murders and saw the commotion in the parking lot with police and a coroner van. He pulled into the lot and got out of the car to discovered that the man lying on the ground was Tirso who would I.D. him to police and Levi who was already in the coroner's van.

To this day, the murderer(s) are yet to be brought to justice. Levi's death (and Tirso Gonzales) was such a shock to family and friends in the Los Angeles and Fresno area. His death has continued to linger in the hearts and lives to everyone who knew him and to his children, nephews, and nieces who never knew him.
