Martha Jo Breece Pace, 84, of Charleston, was born September 26, 1928, in Hickman County, Tenn., to the late Arch C. Breece and Myrtle Hissom Breece. She was a 20-year volunteer at CAMC and a former teacher in both Tennessee and Oceana, W.Va. Martha was a Christian and a member of Davis Creek Church of the Nazarene. She was a graduate of Martin College in Pulaski, Tenn., and Hickman High School, where she played and managed the girls basketball team.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Pace, who was the former owner of Pace Drilling; a daughter, Patricia Lane of Houston, Texas; brother, Carlyle Breece of Centerville, Tenn.; and sister, Carolyn Conduff of Knoxville, Tenn.

She is survived by her only grandchild, Raygen Tweedy of Beckley; sister, Mary Bastin of Hohenwald, Tenn.; and a special friend and companion, Fredrick Dennison and his family of Charleston.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Good Shepherd Mortuary, South Charleston. Burial will be in Edwards Cemetery, Hohenwald,[sic] Tenn.
