The August 4th issue of the Methodist Advocate-Herald, of Pt Pleasant, contains an interesting account of the life and death of Isaac Craig Beckley, son of General Alfred Beckley, who died on July 1st at his home in Mexico, Missouri.
He was born in what is now Beckley, March 2, 1841, and was married to Miss Mary Duncan, a Greenbrier county lady, in 1869. They became the parents of six children, four of whom survive: Edward Craig, Miss Rubena and Miss Mae.
Mr Beckley was a Confederate soldier in the Civil War. In 1874 he moved with his family to Missouri, and settled on a farm near Stephens. Later he moved to a farm near Auxvasse, where he lived until the fall of 1918, when he retired from active life and moved to Mexico, Mo.
